Ephraim Dickinson, MD

Dr. Ephraim Dickinson is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and hip surgery, and sports medicine. He acquired his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at St. Mary’s Hospital & Medical Center, San Francisco. He also completed a fellowship in Sports Shoulder and Elbow at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, wherein he broadened his skills with shoulder and elbow specialties and sports medicine.

Dr. Dickinson also served as an assistant team physician to the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Knights at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte. Even now, Dr. Dickinson continues working with high school and college athletes to develop sports injury prevention protocols. Beyond sports medicine, he also specializes in complex knee and shoulder ligament reconstructions, cartilage restoration, transplantation procedures for the knee, and shoulder replacements. He can handle the most complex cases related to the shoulders, knees, and elbows.

Dr. Dickinson has also spent numerous years practicing medicine abroad, having worked with the Health Volunteers Overseas organization in Tanzania. During his time abroad, he focused on orthopedic trauma and surgery, caring for pediatric patients with HIV in Cape Town. He has also served in numerous international health endeavors in China, India, and Greece. Having worked across the globe, Dr. Dickinson brings the same mission-minded approach to his work with patients in San Francisco.
